Understanding of how HENRY fits with people’s everyday lives.
We are talking to different people to develop our understanding of how
HENRY fits within everyday lives. We know people face difficulties in supporting children to have healthier lives so we need to understand what challenges people face. We are doing this:
By holding workshops with parents, childcare provider staff, researchers and policy makers
Speaking to people on a one to one basis about their views (interviewing).
We will develop a diagram capturing people’s different views.
To date we have held one workshop and produced our initial diagram
If you are interested in providing your views please contact Alexis Foster, Researcher at the University of Sheffield on alexis.foster@sheffield.ac.uk
Talking to parents and staff at childcare centres about how they found the HENRY course.
If you take part in the trial you can also be involved in other activities. We will talk to people who took part in a HENRY programme to understand how they found it. We will speak with people who found HENRY helpful and those who did not.
This will help us understand how the HENRY course may be working but also how it could be improved.
We will also look at information such as the content of the course, how many people did not complete the sessions and take part in sessions to understand more about HENRY.
Areas can take part if they are able to nominate at least 2 centres that in the last 18 months have:
Not delivered a HENRY programme, or
Not attended training to deliver HENRY programmes
We will randomly select half of nominated centres to deliver HENRY (ensuring an even balance of centres according to area level deprivation, centre size and the population ethnicity). The other half will continue with any other existing or planned activity as normal. This is why areas nominate twice the number of centres that they wish to deliver HENRY programmes in.
If you have any questions, please contact the research team or HENRY.
